Good work improves lives

We help people overcome the barriers preventing them from finding meaningful work

We understand how important it is for everyone to have good work. Helping people into the workplace is a vital service for individuals and their families. It also strengthens communities, helps businesses to thrive and supports the economy.

We help people improve their life chances and tackle in-work poverty by offering career support, and learning and skills services. We know there are a number of reasons why people can find it more difficult to gain and sustain meaningful employment. That’s why we provide a number of tailored programmes to help people in a range of circumstances and with a variety of needs. This includes supporting people with disabilities and complex needs. People who have been out of work for extended periods of time. And those looking to upskill or retrain for new opportunities.

In delivering major contracts on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions, the Education Skills Funding Agency, devolved nations and combined authorities we support thousands of people to secure good work.

Our impact

A single mum is supported to start a new role in social care

Our participant is a single mum to three boys. The pressures of home schooling during the pandemic had a detrimental effect on her mental health.  When she joined the JETS programme she believed her lack of qualifications meant she could not progress beyond the cleaning roles she had always done – even though she actually wanted to work in care.

Specialist support helps Gurpreet regain her confidence following sight loss

After the birth of her son, Gurpreet experienced a loss of vision. This led her to believe she wouldn’t be able to continue in paid employment and left her feeling inadequate.
