We know that finding and staying in work can be a challenge. That’s why we’ve created free fast track programmes to help you learn new skills and start a career in a role that supports the energy transition.

PowerUp can help you develop new skills, increase confidence and gain work.

PowerUp is a one week introductory course providing employability skills. Generating awareness and support of Energy transition roles, and connecting you with local employers. 

Here’s just some examples of roles that could be available to you:

  • Electric vehicle charger installer.
  • Recycling operative.
  • Labourer.
  • Retail assistant.
  • Green construction.
  • Customer service adviser.
  • Smart meter installer/engineer.
  • Energy sales representative.
  • Front of house hospitality assistant.

What you’ll gain:

  • Develop in demand job skills: gain the skills employers are looking for. We’ll provide expert guidance on CV and cover letter writing, interview skills and much more to help you succeed in your job search.
  • Build confidence: upskilling in a new sector can be overwhelming. Our team are here to support you every step of the way, helping you feel confident and ready for a new job.

PowerUp is a one week course that runs Monday to Friday, 10am – 4pm.

If you were referred through the Job Centre Plus or another provider, you can speak with them about travel
payment. If these don’t apply to you and you need support, please speak with a member of the team. We will
do our best to help.

No, we can’t guarantee interviews or jobs. But our team will help you with applications, contacting employers
and preparing for interviews. We work closely with many employers across different sectors and can
recommend you for roles, if you meet the criteria.

Yes, we regularly hold face-to-face events in Birmingham and London where you can meet employers and
training providers. These are a great chance to explore career options and further qualifications.

We can support you with any career path you’re interested in.

That is fine, the skills and knowledge you’ll gain from PowerUp are transferable to any role. The
Government’s 2050 directive of net-zero affects all types of businesses, not just the energy sector

Unfortunately, we can’t fund extra courses. But we’ll support you by signposting suitable options for
your next steps.

You’ll get ongoing support from a designated Journey Advisor for six months after you finish the programme.
