From career setback to global impact: Daniel’s story
Starting over, seeking support
Daniel had always dreamed of a career in clinical research. So, when his pharmaceutical role ended, it seemed like he was starting again from scratch – with the future full of uncertainty. With no job, and worries about finding work again, Daniel knew he needed help. That’s where Wellness in Work gave him a lifeline.
Turning uncertainty into strategy
Faced with a daunting situation, Daniel took action, and bravely reached out to the programme. He was paired with an Employment Advisor, Ismael, and quickly got to grips with revising his CV and setting realistic careers goals. Ismael also connected Daniel to employers in the pharmacy sector, and supported him with focused job searches. It didn’t take long before Daniel was applying for Pharmacy Assistant and Technician roles.
Leaping ahead with a global leader
Within weeks, Daniel secured a new job – a position as a Pharmacy Assistant in Clinical Research with hVIVO. The company is a global leader in testing infectious and respiratory disease vaccines, running clinical trials for life-changing medicines. That incredible reputation allowed hVIVO to perform the world’s first COVID-19 human challenge trial in 2021. And now, Daniel was part of the story.
Reflecting on a comeback career
Daniel had done it – he’d landed his dream role. And, incredibly, he’d only been out of work for a matter of weeks. Daniel had lots to share about his experience, and was now bursting with confidence and pride. As he told Ismael, enthusiastically:
“I’m glad to say that I got a job! Tomorrow is my first day. I’d like to say a big thank you for all your support. I was worried about [not having] employment, but with your support in revising my CV and engaging with employers, I was able to secure a role.”
