WorkWell helps Navika to heal and gives her hope again
When Navika joined WorkWell, she was dealing with the fallout of a 12-year marriage. She was struggling to find her identity, manage life on her own and deal with the impact of the relationship on her mental health.
As Navika says: “The past few years I lost myself, I didn’t know who I was and I thought Work Well would be a great start for me to show that I can get back on my own two feet.”
With a determination for things to get better, Navika was referred to WorkWell by her Jobcentre coach and started her healing journey.
Her dedicated WorkWell coach, Audrey Brotherson, knew Navika needed to take things slowly. Her priority was to get her confidence and self-esteem back up, and to feel emotionally stable and grounded. Navika was managing symptoms of depression and anxiety, which were having a huge impact on her wellbeing. Her coach worked carefully to build Navika’s trust, which had been damaged by her past experiences.
In time, things started to look brighter for Navika. The WorkWell programme gave her a free gym membership to help build a daily routine and positively impact Navika’s mental health. Navika immediately felt the benefits of exercising and challenging herself to keep moving, day by day.
Navika says: “I love it at the gym. It’s helped to build confidence in myself when I look at myself in the mirror.”
This newfound confidence wasn’t just noticed by Navika. It’s clear to see. And over time, it keeps building. Navika would put her confidence as an ‘8 out of 10’, and can see how far she’s come and the person she’s slowly becoming.
Navika adds: “I never had hope until I was with the Work Well programme. They gave me that hope. They gave me the faith that everything will be fine.”
