At Shaw Trust, we believe that everyone has the right to live a decent and dignified life. Every day, we work to empower people and communities by removing barriers to employment, education, and opportunity. Now, we’re looking for two new trustees to join our Board and help us drive our mission forward.
Why join us?
As a trustee, you’ll play a key role in shaping our strategic direction and ensuring that we deliver real impact for the people we serve. You’ll work alongside a committed board and leadership team, helping us create positive change for people facing disadvantage.
We’re looking for people who can bring leadership and expertise to help further strengthen our charity. In particular, we’re keen to hear from those with experience and skills in the following areas:
- Local government: someone with leadership experience and first-hand knowledge of how best to work with local authorities, as well as government departments and employers across the country.
- Background in fundraising: someone who can bring fundraising experience to the Board, bringing valuable insights and expertise to help us achieve our financial goals. You’ll provide strategic guidance, specifically in relation our Foundation, and bring expertise in the building of relationships with major donors and sponsors.
Above all, we’re looking for people with a passion for our work and who share our values.
What’s involved?
You’ll attend 4 Board meetings and 4 Committee meetings each year, plus occasional ad-hoc meetings.
- You’ll provide strategic oversight, accountability, and guidance.
- You’ll support us in delivering better opportunities for people across the UK.
