In the position of Employability Support, your duties will involve writing CVs, providing assistance, sharing knowledge, conducting and guiding mock interviews, as well as mentoring and enhancing skills.
Employability Support (Specialist Employability Services)
Location/region: Central England and the home counties
Key Tasks
Support with CV. Improve online presence and further their job prospects by giving advice and knowledge. Prepare and lead on mock interviews face-to-face. Submit strong applications and help participants understand what employer is looking for. Help improve their written skills (cover letters, personal statements etc). Be a mentor. Improve their numercy skills. Help improve participant confidence. Help improve confidence with English if not their first language. Indentify participants transferable skills. Help participant to gain clarity on their disired job role.

What are we asking for?
- Interpersonal skills and communication skills.
- Confident providing support remotely.
- Ability to use, or learn to use Webex or similar.
- Patience and excellent listening skills.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills. Have basic IT Skills, including email. internet, word processing and formatting word documents.
- A professional manner and confidence to work independently.
- Willingness to collaborate with Shaw Trust staff to support jobseekers.
- Have experience working with or supporting people who face disadvantage such as health issues, disabilities and/or lack of employability skills.
Volunteer hours
Four hours between 9am and 5pm between Monday and Friday.
