Understanding B’s PTSD makes sure support is tailored around his needs

B came to us struggling with anxiety and PTSD. He was looking to better control his symptoms, become more independent, and find a job with the flexibility he needed.
His support worker developed bespoke package of wellbeing and PTSD support which included self-efficacy and mindfulness sessions.
To make sure he could get the most out of his time at the hub, B was given early appointments before anyone else arrived. The lack of background noise helped him to manage his anxiety. B’s support worker had an assistance dog which B found calming during his sessions. Noticing B was happier and less anxious around the dog, his support worker also helped him to get a PTSD dog of his own.
B told us, “I have never experienced this level of support before and I’m eternally grateful. My support worker takes the time to understand my PTSD and puts the steps in place to minimise triggers which no one else has done for me before. “Thanks for everything – you are amazing I really appreciate all your doing for me thank you.”
