Working in a busy caring role and facing bullying, Mandy was considering leaving her job behind without a backwards glance. But things changed when Wellness in Work stepped in.

Designed to support professionals with challenges such as bullying, burnout and stress, the programme is a key resource for those in high-pressure roles. It offers confidential advice, mental health resources, and tailored interventions.

Mandy called the programme “instrumental” in helping her stay in work, and said: “Thanks to the advice provided through Wellness in Work, I have decided to stay in my healthcare role. The support helped me navigate the difficult issue of bullying at work.”

Wellness in Work has lots of benefits:

  • Boosts resilience and confidence, while prioritising people’s mental health in the workplace.
  • Provides support for those in caring roles, where staff shortages and rising demand can cause high levels of stress.
  • Empowers staff to report harassment and access support, giving access to advice, interventions and resources.
  • Promotes a positive workplace culture and improves productivity, which in turn can make staff more likely to stay.
  • Has a positive knock-on effect for patients and the wider community. For example, helping someone to stay in work means patients are cared for by the same staff member, with a consistent level of support.

As Mandy’s success story shows, supporting mental health at work is both a moral decision and a strategic one. With programmes like Wellness in Work, businesses can ensure that those in caring roles get the support they need to thrive – and patients have continuity in their care.
