This week we received the sad news that Shaw Trust’s founder Tim Pape has passed away.
Tim served the charity from 1982 – 2010, and was instrumental in making the organisation what it is today.
We owe Tim a huge debt of gratitude. It was his passion and commitment that saw him found Shaw Trust in 1982, in the village of Shaw in Wiltshire. Driven by a desire to help people with disabilities overcome the barriers they faced in finding employment, Tim’s vision was to ensure disabled people had a fair chance to participate in the workforce.
Tim served as the charity’s director general for many years, and his tenure saw significant growth and expansion. His leadership was instrumental in shaping our organisation into a major force within the UK’s social welfare landscape.
His achievements established Shaw Trust as a leader in social care and welfare reform in the UK, and we now support over 300,000 people each year.
Tim’s passion and unwavering commitment started our journey. We remember Tim as we carry forward his legacy and continue to strive to do justice to his mission.
We extend our deepest sympathies to Tim’s family and loved ones. His loss will be felt deeply.
