Mental Health First Aid
Health and wellbeing
Shaw Trust Health and Wellbeing services extend beyond internal delivery to our staff and participants. The Health and Wellbeing team work across England, Scotland and Wales with stakeholders and employers to understand the health and wellbeing needs of their staff and provide bespoke and accredited training packages, either by virtual platform or face to face, including digital resources.
Our training packages
Our training packages can include facilitation to front line staff in managing crisis situations, de-escalation, condition management and knowledge of where to go for help and guidance.
We can support staff as well as line managers to gain skills and abilities to confidently interact and support people’s needs with their disabilities effectively. We have also supported HR teams in best practice, for the recruitment and on boarding of new employees with visual and non-visual disabilities.
Gain skills
Our day placements provide vocational experience in a supportive environment, where individuals will learn about timekeeping, teamwork and customer service. Individuals will also gain skills in line with their placement, this could include using tools, how to identify and care for plants, stock maintenance, how to grow fruit and vegetables and how to plant seeds.
Delivery
We offer face to face and telephone support, with clinically qualified counsellors and occupational health practitioners to organisations, to ensure a continuum of care to their workforce bringing specialist and intensive programmes tailored to individual need.
