Refugee Employability Programme
What is Refugee Employability Programme?
If you are a refugee, finding a job and settling into your community is very important. We know that it can be difficult to start, that’s why we’re here to help.
Do you live in Barnet, Brent, Camden, Ealing, Enfield, Hammersmith, Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Kensington, Chelsea or Westminster? If so, you may be eligible to receive support from the Refugee Employability Programme.
How does it work?
Once accepted onto the programme you will be allocated a Case Manager to assess your needs and work with you to develop a tailored plan. The Case Manager will review your progress regularly to ensure you are getting the most from the service.
There are three main types of support provided:
Employability support
This ensures an appropriate level of support is provided for you to build your skills and talent and access sustainable local work. This includes:
• identifying the right jobs to apply for
• creating a CV
• job searching in the right places
• learning new skills through training
• accessing work experience opportunities
• finding out more about local work culture
• develop digital inclusion skills
• accessing funding for training or travel to appointments (up to a specified limit)
• improving money management skills
• submitting job applications
• practising for job interviews
