Shaw Trust Accessibility Services have supported Enfield Council in making their website accessible, with the Council’s website was awarded the Shaw Trust Accessibility Accreditation.
After reaching out to Shaw Trust for support with their website, the team worked with the council to improve their website to ensure that it is inclusive, user friendly and accessible to residents and individuals who have a wide range of disabilities.
Digital accessibility improves customer experience and colleague productivity, in essence it can benefit everyone in society, not just those with disabilities. Digital technologies continue to alter the world in which we live, and we are more connected than ever before.
The accessibility services team pride themselves on the personal service that they provide to their customers, supporting them to become digitally accessible and meet web content accessibility guidelines. Their team of expert testers have personal lived experience in using assistive technology and use both automated tools and manual forms of testing.
Through using expert testers, human interaction identifies nuances and detail that other forms of testing may overlook, enabling the team to provide qualitative feedback enhancing customers understanding of the digital challenges faced by users.
Working with local authorities such as Enfield Council highlights Shaw Trust’s commitment to making a lasting positive impact for the people we support ensuring inclusion is at our heart. Seeking to create an equitable online environment where individuals can undertake day-to-day tasks in an ever-developing digital world.
