Disability Power 100 influencer and Shaw Trust Accessibility Services colleague, Lee Ellery, has recently been working on his new show “In the spotlight with Lee Ellery” on Swan TV. The show will cover all aspects of disability issues, primarily focusing on success and achievements, overcoming barriers and providing disability news.
Freelance writer Ciaran Fitzgerald and actress Cara Jayne Readle joined Lee for episode one which was released at the end of June. This chat was based on the lack of representation of disabled people within media and arts and how they are campaigning to make this industry more inclusive.
Lee said, “I am delighted for the opportunity to have a platform where I can raise the profile and promote the rights of people living with disabilities and to give people a voice, especially those quiet voices. This is really important work and I feel honoured and privileged to have had the faith of Swan TV and Mike Leahy put on me. I hope I can do it justice, as it won’t be for the lack of trying on my part.”
The Disability Power 100 campaign is about creating change. It recognises the 100 most influential disabled people living and working in the UK and celebrates their ambition and achievement, providing much needed encouragement to the leaders of tomorrow.
