Helping A to build his confidence, find a community and get work

After being released from prison, A was struggling with his emotional wellbeing. He was experiencing loneliness and was uncertain about his future. Mainstream support wasn’t meeting his needs and he felt lost and unsure where to turn.
At our CFO Activity Hub, his support worker took the time to understand his needs. Together they set out the steps he could take to start to feel part of the community again, and eventually to find a job.
A package of bespoke support including emotional wellbeing workshops and intuitive thinking sessions provided him with the tools and coping mechanisms he needed to move forward.
He’s now found a renewed sense of purpose, confidence and a job. Reflecting on his experience, A says:
“The Shaw Trust provides a safe and supportive environment where I can share my struggles without judgement. “They gave me the support and belief in myself that I desperately needed, I never thought I’d find a job, let alone feel this confident and connected to others”.
