Whether you prefer to volunteer behind the scenes or in a customer-facing role, there’s plenty for you to get involved with.
Key Tasks
Provide support to the shop management team to enable the smooth and successful running of the retail shop. You will use your existing skills and develop new ones if you do not have previous experience in retail.
Volunteers will also be involved in the following tasks:
- Welcoming and helping customers.
- Stock preparation including sorting, steaming, and pricing.
- Replenishing stock on the shop floor and organising displays.
- Possible administrative tasks such as stocktaking.
- Taking receipt of stock donations from the public.
- Possibly operating the till and serving customers.
There are also opportunities to support the management functions of the shop through cash handling, key holding, and each shop also has at least one key volunteer who takes on supervisory responsibilities and deputises in the absence of the manager.

What are we asking for?
- Typically, we request about four hours per week from our volunteers, but we are open to flexibility based on your availability.
- A team player with a helpful and positive attitude.
- Someone who is eager to acquire new skills and knowledge.
- Volunteers must be aged 14+.
Volunteer hours
Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and weekends, no minimum hours. There is flexibility around the start and finish times, volunteers generally volunteer for either a morning or afternoon shift.
